Stryker Spine Book Program
LBG Heath Content Solutions, LLC (HCS) runs a book program for Stryker Pharmaceuticals that allows their sales representatives to order and distribute medical text books to hospital programs or individual doctors.
This year, HCS expanded to put the process online in addition to their flyer-based catalog and worked with us to develop the online catalog. We developed a completely custom application for HCS/Stryker because of their unique business rules and reporting requirements.
The system was pre-populated with Stryker Sales Representatives, their contact information, and reporting structure. Each rep was provided a unique login and could choose up to five books from a 40-book catalogue to distribute to their clients. After choosing a book, the rep fills out details for the hospital or doctor the book is for, and a set of logic rules are checked to ensure the maximum quantities haven’t been reached and there are no duplicates. After reviewing their final shopping cart and making any modifications, the rep can also choose to have each book shipped to a difference address instead of their own. Once they have submitted their order, they can return until they have reached their maximum number of books. The administration has the ability to override the maximum number for each sales rep or program.
Each rep can log in to see their order history, make modifications to orders that haven’t been processed or send customer service a message. Area Director sand Sales Managers have different levels of report access. Both can see the Full Activity Report showing all Sales Reps, their region/branch reporting structure, their orders, and rollup totals for branches, regions and the company. If individual maximums are exceeded because of administrative override, their redemption percentage turns red. Similarly, the company’s total expenditure will turn read if it is nearing its contract maximum. Area Directors also have access to Region and Branch Reports so they can evaluate the success of the program by local activity use.
The administrator (HCS) has access to all reports, plus a compliance report to comply with heath regulations, order batch processing, shipping report, and books ordered by popularity. The administrator can also add and modify users and books. The program has been so well received that Stryker uses it to inject updated contact information into their Intranet, and is setting up a similar program using a different catalog for another department. HCS is also going to utilize this platform for other clients with minimal modifications to the backend and minimal setup time.
